Studio Ray Weng

Role Art direction, Graphic design
Date 2013 – 2018

I started working as an art director and graphic designer with new chairman Nina Beckmann in 2013, helping Grafikens Hus transition from a physical and historical art museum/workshop to a mobile gallery and school workshop setting. My work included:

  • Re-arranging the logo system.
  • Creating visual communication as a print art gallery.
  • Designing the homepage and webshop.

I specialize in visual communications design for both printed and digital materials. This includes creating logo identity systems, designing posters for exhibitions and workshops, crafting images for social media, and even producing podcast icons.

Grafikens Hus c/o

2014 after the dramatic fire accident, Grafikens Hus reopened and ran the ‘c/o’ program as a mobile gallery and touring in Sweden. Under the ‘c/o’ program, Grafikens Hus opened a pop-up shop in Mariefred, Sweden. As the in-house designer, I created the new logo as an original extension and designed different visual designs for each exhibition and pop-up shop location. While waiting for the insurance payment, I used stamp/hand printing to create pop-up shop bags and stickers. This method saved some money and increased engagement from museum visitors.

Following the pop-up shop in Mariefred, Sweden, the ‘c/o’ program continued to travel to various museums and galleries throughout Sweden until it eventually came to a close when Grafikens Hus found a new home in Södertälje, Sweden.
